Read more about how Lift Communications helps serve our community
We are proud to announce that LiftComm was recently featured in Elevator World for our role in enhancing elevator safety and communication at two major New York City subway stations: 34th Street–Penn Station in Manhattan and 3rd Avenue–149th Street in the Bronx.
As part of the MTA's broader Zoning for Accessibility initiative, these upgrades improve both safety and usability across the transit system. LiftComm provided a secure, on-premises elevator communication system that complies with the ASME 17.1-2019 elevator code, while giving riders a reliable way to communicate during emergencies.
Unlike cloud-based options, LiftComm’s system is hosted locally to meet the MTA’s strict cybersecurity requirements. This ensures that all elevator communication remains within the transit authority’s protected network environment.
LiftComm also supports real-time audio and text communication. This ensures that passengers with hearing, vision, or speech impairments can use the system without barriers. Our on-premises platform not only satisfies code requirements but also raises the standard for accessibility and passenger support.
Additional LiftComm support features include:
We appreciate Elevator World for recognizing the unique value LiftComm brings to elevator modernization. And we thank the MTA for trusting our team to help create a safer, more accessible subway system.
