The MTA recently completed the modernization of threeelevators at Queens Plaza Station, a critical transfer point in Long IslandCity. While these upgrades improve passenger flow and reliability, they alsoshowcase a deeper advancement: accessible emergency communication powered byLiftComm.

Elevators That Communicate With Everyone

When riders step into a newly modernized elevator at QueensPlaza, they see more than just a fresh cab. They see our LiftComm EmergencyCommunication System, designed to make sure no rider is ever left without a wayto call for help.

Our system goes beyond traditional elevator phones.Passengers who are blind, deaf, or speech-impaired can interact using YES/NObuttons combined with voice and text-based communication. This inclusiveapproach ensures that in any situation, every person has a reliable way toconnect with responders.

Built for Resilience

Unlike other solutions in the market, LiftComm gives transitoperators a choice of hosting models. While cloud hosting is common in theindustry, LiftComm is the only provider offering on-premises hosting, acritical option for agencies like the MTA that demand the highest levels of security, control, and uptime.

With on-premises hosting, the system operates independentlyof outside networks, giving agencies the assurance that emergency communicationwill work even in the toughest environments.

Serving Millions at a Critical Hub

Queens Plaza serves as a busy interchange between the E, M,and R subway lines. The new elevators not only improve accessibility forpassengers with mobility needs but also guarantee that communication is never abarrier. By integrating LiftComm technology, the MTA reinforces its commitmentto a more reliable, inclusive transit system for all New Yorkers.

Moving Transit Forward

At LiftComm, we believe accessibility isn’t an add-on, it’sthe foundation of safety. Every project we deliver ensures that riders can movethrough the city with confidence, knowing that help is always within reach.

The Queens Plaza elevator modernization is another milestonein New York’s transit future, and we’re proud that LiftComm is at the center ofit.
