As part of its growing commitment to accessibility, the MTA recently opened two new elevators at Bay Ridge–95 St Station. LiftComm was once again proud to support this effort, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between TEC Solutions and the MTA.

From initial planning through installation and support, LiftComm has become a trusted provider for MTA projects requiring secure, reliable, and accessible elevator communication, especially when public safety is on the line.

Why Emergency Communication Matters in Every Elevator

Elevators are more than just vertical transportation, they are critical infrastructure. When emergencies happen, passengers need a fast, dependable way to call for help. That’s where LiftComm stands out.

Our elevator phone system is designed from the ground up to:

  • Operate reliably on-premises, without relying on third-party cloud networks

  • Provide both talk and text capabilities, ensuring users with hearing, vision, or speech impairments can call for help

  • Comply with ASME 17.1-2019 for accessibility and emergency preparedness

In the event of a power outage or emergency, riders can communicate directly and securely with help, without delay, without network errors, and without risk of disconnection.

Built on a Strong Relationship with the MTA

The Bay Ridge–95 St project is one of many LiftComm-supported installations across the New York City Transit system. With more than 15,000 access points protected by TEC Solutions and a growing portfolio of accessible station upgrades, our relationship with the MTA runs deep.

The MTA has come to rely on LiftComm not just as a product vendor, but as a solutions provider, one that delivers reliable results, clear communication, and real-world engineering support.

Factory-Tested, Field-Ready

Every LiftComm system is tested and configured before it ever ships. Through our Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) process, we simulate the end user’s network environment and pre-configure every unit to exact IP specifications.

When installation day comes, our devices are:

  • Plug-and-play ready

  • Pre-approved for the MTA’s unique network standards

  • Supported by our engineering team through optional Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)

The result is a system that installs faster, operates more reliably, and supports the people who depend on it most, your riders.

LiftComm Sets the Standard for Elevator Phone Security

No other elevator phone on the market delivers the same level of security, accessibility, and customization. LiftComm is the only system designed to run entirely on-premises, giving agencies full control over their data and emergency response infrastructure.
