Elevator Phone One-Line Diagram: Single Building Two-Way Communication

This one-line diagram shows the typical single-elevator configuration for a code-compliant two-way communication system in a commercial building. It maps every device in the signal path: the Elevator Audio-Visual-Text SIP Phone (EAV) in the cab, camera device (CD), machine room device (MRD) in the elevator machine room, phone line verification (PLV), designated fixture (DF) at the designated elevator landing, and the command center (CC) at the security desk.

The diagram includes wiring keynotes for engineers and electrical contractors — 120V power connections, 22-gauge twisted shielded pair for the hoistway wireway, 18-gauge twisted shielded pairs in the elevator traveling cable for the camera, phone, and line verification, and Cat 6 for network runs — plus scope-of-work color coding separating elevator contract, electrical contract, and existing equipment.

Basis of design is the LiftComm on-premises EE2CS system: LC-EAV-Series cab phone, LC1300-EMR machine room device, and LC1300-LOBBY command center, with Axis or Panasonic cameras streaming over RTSP. Download the PDF for use in specifications, submittals, and construction documents.
